It’s probably time to talk a little about the game.
It’s called murmures, and it’s a narrative exploration game where you play as Clara, a woman moving through different places connected to her past while trying to understand what’s happening around her.
The game deals with depression and guilt, but also with healing, acceptance, and the help we can find along the way.
Put like that, it sounds very cheerful. But you can pet a cat!
From the beginning, I’ve wanted to make something fairly short and quiet, focused on exploration, writing and emotions. There’s no combat, and the goal isn’t to punish the player, but to show how very simple things can sometimes become difficult when you’re not doing well.
Visually, murmures mixes 3D environments with 2D characters, in a world that’s intentionally simple, dark and slightly strange.
I’m developing the game on my own for now, under the name Selane Studio. The project has come a long way over the past few months, and I finally have enough to show to start talking about it more regularly.
I’m currently working on a first demo, which will introduce the main mechanics, the atmosphere of the game, and the beginning of Clara’s story.
I’ll be sharing images, videos, music and a few parts of the development process here.
murmures is still in development, but it’s finally taking enough shape for me to start showing it properly.
